If you do not find your vehicle category in our list, please read the following information for your general orientation:
If you are a professional driver and transport passengers in vehicles with no more than 9 seats, you must have a passenger transport permit. Read the information under „taxis“.
If you are a professional driver and transport passengers in vehicles seating 10 or more, you need a bus driver’s licence (category D, D1, D1E, etc.). Read the information under „bus“.
If you intend to drive vehicles with a maximum permissible weight over 7.5 tonnes, you will need a HGV driver’s licence (category C, C1, C1E, etc.).
If you intend to drive vehicles weighing less than 7.5 tonnes but with a large trailer, you may also need a lorry driver’s licence. Check with the Vehicle Licensing Office (Zulassungsstelle). If you require a category C or D driving licence, you can always approach my practice.
In order to obtain a „normal“ licence to drive a passenger car, you normally only need to undergo an eye test. Sometimes it may be cheaper to have this done by an optician. However, certificates obtained from an optician are NOT valid for truck drivers and those involved in passenger transport.
If your driving licence has been taken away and you wish to obtain a new one after a certain period of time, you can always contact me about obtaining the necessary medical certificate.
If you have a health problem and the Vehicle Licensing Inspectorate (Zulassungsstelle) requires a medical certificate, you can entrust me with this task. The financial calculation in this case depends on the content and scope of the work to be carried out.
